One of really rare examples of what should be (in my opinion) true Pontid, he is not Nord Pontid, his eyes are brown, but still has a lot of other traits from Nord Pontid. We can argue here or not, but take a good look at this guy and nowone of you will ever confuse PONTID (true PONTID) with Eastern-Med.
One more time, TRUE PONTID:

Pontid reminds me of "Greek" phenotypes, especially the women. Maybe result of Greek-like genetic expansion.

I associate Pontid phenotypes with Bulgaria and Greece, and think of them as an eastern version of the Atlanto-Med.

I agree to some degree with you, but Pontids can be found in majority of South-Eastern Europe. The problem which I have when someone classify some Greek as Pontid, It's usually (not always, but I saw many cases) some sort of symbiot between eastern-Med and Pontid, or even pure eastern-Med, and we can agree that those two types are very different, stable phenotypes.

Who wrote this description?
Coon:
Along the northern and western shores of the Black Sea are found, among other populations, brunet Mediterraneans of a generalized type, called Pontic by the Russian anthropologists, who are usually of medium to tall stature and who seem related on the one hand to the Atlanto-Mediterraneans and on the other to the long-faced Mediterranean prototype of Asia Minor and the Caucasus.
So it is an umbrella term. Similarly it was used as a broad east-med type by other anthropologists.
The "pontids" in Greece are alpinized or gracilized Atlanto-meds .
The examples posted from East-europe are probably the closest to what Russians called Pontic.

Basic whites are what I call atlanto-med Greeks.

Can you find me any text about Pontids in Greece?
I think tanned Tronders would be more accurate.
