    Sell them to a museum. This is too private question asking how he get them. Maybe his grand daddy was Komita member fighting for independence and got the coins after killing Ottoman soldier of God know what ethno descent and from where? Better not think about imo.

    my roots are spread all over the "greater" Macedonian region. I cannot really specify their exact origin.

    My Eastern Thracian part is Bulgarian. Bulgarian refugees from Eastern Thrace who escaped from this area to North Bulgaria.
