Our national colors have been for most of the time throughout our history white, blue and red. I wouldn't mind if it looked like our monarchy flag, expect without the crown.

It's not because the flag of Albania is fully red that it means this country is still rulled by the Commies. Besides, Turkey and Switzerland also have a plain red flag, and they aren't Socialist States. Red is the most common color used in vexillology.

But since you happen to hate green (associated with Islam) and red (associated with Leftism), here's my proposals for a new Portuguese flag.
