wrong - she's ethnic Tatar. it's just that in Romania they're put together at the census. but Romanian Tatars have no Turkish origin - their origin are Crimean Tatars. Tatars inhabited Dobrudja region even before Vlachs, btw

No, most of them are Tatars or descended from other Turkic steppe hordes, some of them probably adapted Oghuz Turkic as their language during Ottoman times.

I am from Dobrogea and I can tell you there are Ottoman descended Turks too. I had a Turkish math teacher, who looked more like a Greek than a Tatar. But I think Tatars are more numerous and look obviously Asian or Mongoloid/Turanid, clearly looking apart from Romanians.
