As everyone may know, man is shaped by their very experiences and influences that defines each and everyone of us inherently. Which, in its very true core, is contentious, which is good to stipulate discussion. As it shows everyone is true to their own convictions in its truest sense, which is quite good to understand such view points.
After observing and deciphering underlying logic in different people's postulations; there seems to be three main schools of thought that acts as the basis for what appeals to different people more ideologically speaking in terms of their "ideal society."
Which is why I'll give the general "gist"/brief descriptions of each one and everyone can build off/expand on the given idea.
1) Ethno-Nationalist: Homogeneous collective:
Postulates the ideal that one's society should be based upon genetically similar compatriots/constituents grounded in a singular nationality. Which the nation state has absolute autonomy to control their own governance. Not controlled/obstructed by foreign policies/influence through the manifestation of foreign bankers, globalized corporate conglomerates or incongruous, foreign populations.
2) Expansionist perspective: Heterogeneous vassal/tributary states:
Postulates that one's society should follow a centralized governance manifesting through multiple nation states with an imposed, singular culture and national identity. Meaning that, every heterogeneous population regardless of their prior identities/affiliations must conform to the imposed culture to what is forcibly put on them as their designated nationality. With strict adherence to what is deemed "common law" (meaning a strict, worldwide adherence to what is outlined in the country as a whole on how an individual/citizen can act).
3) Egalitarian perspective: Harmonic symbiosis of all heterogeneous populations:
Postulates that one's society, again, follows a centralized governance of many different peoples/creeds (thus, the "heterogeneous collective") under one banner/federalized nationality. But, the society allows each population to keep their own values/traditions intact. Allowing them to pursue their own autonomy within the country's boundaries as long as they confirm to the country's outlined laws/statutes.
Nevertheless, if you had to choose, which one would appeal to you more?
