Default Andros, Greece (Cyclades) DNA result!

The result is basically the equivalent of either: 1/16 Russian and the rest Sicilian, OR 25% Albanian/Greek mainland and 75% Sicilian. So they do shift slightly north, but not much.

    Spoiler!

Here are the other two. The first one here is more or less like a Sicilian but slightly north shifted (like 3%, or 1/8 of the way to Greece/Albania):

And the final one... this one is like the others but the most northward of the three:

The only important difference from those from Athens, for example is the EHG admixture

I don't know how people from Athens would plot, but I do know that these people will fill the gap between Sicily and the mainland, and they shift toward the mainland compared to Dodecanese and Cretans (the same is also true for the North Aegean).

The third is closer to Greek Athens, the first to Italia South. Only the second is closer to Sicilians (Center and West for some reason) using MDLP K23b and a free program called Past 3.14 to create a PCA.

I personally expect the Classical Hellenes to be around there but maybe the northern ones were already more northern shifted due to Illyrian or Thracian admixture. There is a documented flow of people from the North during Middle Ages.

The early Slavs who reached as far as the Peloponnese were phenotypically similar to Western South Slavs imo (I have no proof), so I consider that admixture mostly a positive thing.

Because East Sicily is very Cretan/Dodecanese like and has very low North European affinity.

The first two are similar to Sicilians and southern Italians but with a slightly increased North European affinity, which is probably from their mainland Greek ancestry in ancient times. But I would argue these results are how ancient Greeks might have looked -- more North European than Sicilians and Cretans, but not as much as modern mainlanders who do have SOME Slavic ancestry.

This is where the results come from. I think they're plotting between Sicily and the mainland.
