Jehan is the middle age versin of "jean" a typical french surname.

Shah = King, Jahan = World/Universe, so Shah Jahan means King of the Universe/World. It is a persian word yes, but is pronounced/spelled with an 'a' and not 'e' but I just had 'e' to be different.

In Indic languages, its pronounced je-han not ja-han which is why most South Asians spell it Jehan. I thought that was the reason yours was spelled like that.

It's pronounced with an 'a' in Hindi/Urdu as well as Bengali like the same 'a' in Bazar, I just wanted to be different lol. Except however, the last n is tonal in Hindi/Urdu while it's pronounced in Bengali.

In Urdu,whenever there's an 'h', the vowel before almost always makes the 'e' sound but now that I think about it you might be right. I've heard it pronounced jahan, jehan, and jihan. There are people with names that have it spelled Jehan e.g. Noor Jehan, her name is pronounced ji-han.
