El español es el segundo idioma más hablado del mundo, después del chino mandarín, como lengua materna.

A mí también me gusta el español.

    Pregúntame cualquier duda que tengas.

Yo, dentro de mi enorme ignorancia sobre todo, intentaré responderte.

Umm...just make sure I do my marks correctly. Sometimes I forget and write si and se not sí and sé for example. Test me on los verbos first? Just list them in Spanish first and let me try to remember the meanings? Because I know los verbos are important because there's lots of endings...voy, vas, vamos, van..

But you're also el maestro so you must tell me what to do

Spanish and English share a good deal of vocabulary and a more or less similar sintax. But one of the core differences is in the language is the use of personal pronouns. In english it is always necesary to have a pronoun present in the sentence. That is not the case in Spanish.

Such as in "(yo) sé" and "(yo) necesito estudiar". The verb tense indicates who the subject is and thus in this case it is always ommited. However, for it to be a full sense with meaning there is always need of a direct object which in English sometimes can be ommited and deduced by context. As in "I know (that which we just talked about)". This can't be done in Spanish and a reflection of that object must be presen. ie (yo) LO sé.

Ahora no te preocupes por los acentos --tildes--. Hay alguna regla gramatical por ahí para usarlos. Pero, de hecho, está proyectado no hacerlos obligatorios, sólo quedarían como obligatorios aquéllos que son necesarios para distinguir dos palabras diferentes, como tú-tu, él-el, sé-se, dé-de, etc.

Lo que te dice el burgalés Raikaswinþs es también interesante.

Edit: De todas formas, te iré indicando los acentos, si los pusieses mal.

But aren't both still correct? For example can't it be right either way if I say..

Yo no tengo una pregunta or no tengo una pregunta?

    Or

Yo me gusta azul or me gusta azul?

I assume both are correct still but Yo isn't required. Yes?

You can only use "yo" if you really want to emphasize yourself. Otherwise it's incorrect and sounds bad.

    Or
Yo me gusta azul or me gusta azul?
Yo me gusta azul is always incorrect. Me gusta el (color) azul is the correct way. If you want to emphasize the subject, in this case you should say "A mi me gusta el azul". This is a particular case because gustar is one of those infamous "reflective" verbs .

You dont say Yo gusto azul (literally "I like Blue") but "me gusta el azul" ("Like me/me likes the blue").

I assume both are correct still but Yo isn't required. Yes?
    Unfortunately it's not the case.

"Yo sé" is always an incomplete sentence with no meaning and "Yo lo sé" is only used for emphasis on the subject

Quién lo sabe? (Who knows it?)

YO (lo sé) (I! (Know it)

Likewise you always say "tengo una pregunta". And normally only add on the "yo" in very particular scenarios.

    ie. Answering a "who" question

Who has a question? " Quien tiene una pregunta?"?

YO (tengo una pregunta). And as you can see in this case the rest of thes entence can be ommited just buy context.

In order not to confuse you , try to avoid the overuse of personal pronouns, only use them when some information is missing (ie. when the gender is not clear)
