Here is a half white half mexican girl I knew in high school who I thought could easily pass as an Afghan, Lebanese, or Azeri girl. I'm actually pretty sure I asked her if she was an Arab or Muslim in high school:

I noticed it too, but I don't think it's coincidental. I think genetical links to the Mediterranean World brings out the similarities.

Wow, in this pic, she looks a lot like one of my sisters, just with thicker eyebrows and slightly bigger eyes. She totally passes as West Asian.

As a side note, Roberto Grande may not be a Mexican, but he's a very good example of a Latino (who is non white) but passes among Levantines extremely easily.
