Anyone notice the BBC almost never refers to ISIS by their technical name, "The Islamic State". But instead always, obsessively puts "so-called" in front of it?
I thought it was fucking weird and very presumptuous. The person writing those articles is most likely not a Muslim and has no real knowledge of Islam.
Who the FUCK are they to decide what's Islamic and what's not? More than Baghdadi who has a PHD in Islamic studies?

Well in history, Islamic states were never self declared without some sort of bay3a (oath of allegiance) from the people they ruled over. The Islamic state declared itself so, without receiving any oath of allegiance from anyone except a few scared Sunni chieftains, afraid of Shia death squads or Assad's shabiha paramilitary. It takes big kahoonas to declare your state a Khilaafah and yourself a Khalifah, when you've spent a good part of the decade being tortured and bending over naked for American prison guards in Abu Ghraib (no offense to AL Baghdadi).

So until ISIS can prove themselves to Sunnis, Shias, heretics secularists, Israel and people start (involuntarily) sitting down with them in the negotiation tables, they are definitely just 'so called' and I agree with the BBC designation.
