Only when they perceive that the Poles are stealing their jobs.

Often the Poles are more skilled and accept lower wages which many brits resent.

It is always a good idea to know the language spoken by peoples who are numerous in a country.

I think you mean majority of those, who came to country X only to spend a month or two there. Those who are going to live there will learn a language.

It's always like that with any ethnicity. Greeks in Australia speak Greek because they are numerous, Poles in Britain and Scandinavia speak Polish because many of their compatriots live there, and the British overseas speak only English.

    Demographics 2010[1]
    • White 28.44%
    • Black 2.52%
    • Hispanic 64.43%
    • Asian 3.04%
    • Other 1.57%

I didn't knew we are Hispanic.

Anyway, Poles who live there speak English. It is more possible for them to not speak Polish.

believe me that some of old wave of immigrants slide between other Poles who can speak and they help them with finding job etc, so they don't speak, I have my relatives in NY and know something about it

I agree that learning languages is important, but for intellectual development and trade, not for these reasons.
