    Default Classify Proto-Indo-Europeans

At first, my map of PIE expansions until 2500-2000 BC:

According to Kurts 1984 (p. 90), there were at least 3 main anthropological types among the PIE:

Type 1) - "Dolichocephalic individuals, with broad faces of medium height"
Type 2) - "More robust elements with high and wide faces of the Proto-Europoid type"
Type 3) - "More gracile individuals with narrow and high faces of the East Mediterranean type"

Kurts wrote: "The Yamnaya population generally belongs to the European race." They were tall for their times (average male height 175,5 cm). Average EHG male in Mesolithic Russia had been 173,2 cm.

This below is a morph made from several reconstructions, showing an "average PIE man":

They resemble modern Northern / East European people to some extent, but there's no modern ethnicity with mix of 50/50 CHG + EHG as of today.

Later I will post some individual reconstructions (in addition to that morph).

More recent models by Davidski say that they were a mix of 3 groups (EHG + CHG + something else):

One model (from May 2016): http://eurogenes.blogspot.com/2016/0...chg-maybe.html

Similar one (from July 2016): http://eurogenes.blogspot.com/2016/0...teppeemba.html

That something else could be responsible for the presence of East Mediterranean anthropological type.

Of course EHG + CHG were 90-70%. The remaining "thing(s)" = only 10-30% of their ancestry.

    ================

"Iran Neolithic" / "Iran Chalcolithic" was very similar to CHG anyway.

But I think that they could also have some admixture from the Balkans, or from the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture in Ukraine. But so far we don't have enough of Ukrainian and Balkan samples, so hard to say.

The rest of their ancestry is most likely Anatolian_NF or some very minor East Eurasian admixture.

Some individual reconstructions (not only from Yamnaya, also related Early IE cultures):

AFAIK, Bell Beaker men looked similar to Yamnaya and Corded Ware, but were more Dinaricized.

Interesting that Central European Beakers were still pretty much Eastern European genetically:

    http://www.theapricity.com/forum/sho...7-amp-R1b-U152

I0806 (Bell Beaker man with R1b-DF27 haplogroup from Germany, dated to years 2431-2150 BC) resembles modern Eastern Europeans and Scandinavians in terms of autosomal DNA. He is also close to Steppe_MLBA (Middle-Late Bronze Age Steppe, so Post-Yamnaya cultures such as Andronovo and Sintashta).

No, most Bell Beakers cluster with NW Euros. Corded Ware and Indo-Iranians were Eastern European like. Bell Beakers were also light like Indo-Iranians/Unetice while Yamnaya/Corded Ware were dark.
The Guanche skulls as a whole are unlike those of modern European Mediterraneans, and resemble northern European series most closely, especially those in which a brachycephalic element is present, as in Burgundian and Alemanni series.
divided them into clearly differentiated types, which include a Mediterranean, a Nordic, a "Guanche," and an Alpine. The "Guanche" accounts for 50 per cent of the whole on the four islands of Teneriffe, Gomera, Gran Canaria, and Hierro; the Nordic for 31 per cent, the Mediterranean for 13 per cent, and the Alpine
