He said that his family came originaly from Syrakuse.

It only proves that you have misconceptions.

Because you think there never where Syrakusians who migrated towards Western Sicily or vice versa.

You make it seem"sometimes" like people from different parts of the same ethno-linguistical sphere are completly distinct and seperate from oneanother and never blended together.

I'm sure there are also Sicilians with Apulian,Calabrian ancestry and vice versa.

The same has to be considered when you contrast Southern Mainland Greeks vs Islanders.

    Southern Greeks vs Northern Greeks.

    Anatolian Greeks vs European Greeks.

Cypriots and Pontians vs the other Greeks

No, he is half from Agrigento and half from Catania. He is claiming the people of AGRIGENTO are transplanted Syracusan Greeks and they are not. The people of Agrigento are identical to the Maltese and have elevated MENA ancestry compared to Syracuse, because the region has seen significant traffic since the days of ancient Greece that he will not acknowledge.

He is not of Syracusan origins in recent times or I would have said something entirely different.
