Why do liberals love Islamists??

You need to look at the birth of liberalism in order to answer this question.

Are you talking about the downfall of the Ottoman Empire during WWI which also coincides with the Bolshevik Revolution? Or do you mean classical liberalism which has little to do with the question?

Part of the problem with any guilt which emerges with Western liberals, is that we were in no way responsible for the Muslim world cutting its people off from education and the printing press one hundred years before the downfall of the Ottoman empire.

A more current explanation sometimes used, is the progressive anger at the United States in particular for their dealings in the Middle East, that this explains why Islamism began to flourish.

Liberalism was invented by rich aristocrats in France. It means "let them come" letting them work for them cheaper than anyone there. So villagers or uneducated inhabitants of county had right to move in cities. It was forbidden before. Now there is neo-liberalism which is based on the same principles and ideas. Today's villagers are Muslims from third world countries or war-zones created by white people. This has nothing to do with Ottoman Empire nor has with Bolsheviks. But yes Ottoman Empire later understood his mistake for not following Renaissance after her other European counterparts. However it was too late obviously.

What I am trying to say is that they don't love islamists they love anything cheap from anywhere.
