I went to an antique show recently where I purchased a WWI Iron Cross Second Class (you can check it out here: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/sho...81#post4193481), and there were people selling pocket, tactical, defensive, and other utility knives. I had never before purchased such a knife, but I found a gentleman who was selling knives from military and other companies (SOG, Gerber, etc).
I bought this Gerber "open-assist" tactical knife for $10. It comes with a gravel-like grip, a safety switch, and a rivet-like mechanism on the side which must be flicked with significant pressure in order to deploy the knife. At first I had to use two hands to deploy the knife, but with a bit of practice I now can deploy the knife single handed.
My mother wants a switch-blade (also known as an OTF i.e. Out-the-Front knife) which, while illegal in many areas, is readily available online. I will get her one of these for her birthday, and I will probably get one for myself as well.
I am thinking of getting this, a German Stiletto OTF Knife from Kriegar:
Discuss your tactical knife collection, post pics of knives you own, and other knives that you want here.
