No reliable data can be provided. According to pro-putin propagandists and other multiculturalists, all ex-USSR residents in Russia are Russians "spiritually" and official statistics don't estimate race and ethnicity of newborns. The share of asians is quite big.

Baby boom: Immigrants raise Moscow’s birth rate

One in ten children born in Moscow is to an immigrant family, the Russian Stats Agency says.

This marks the first time in 20 years that the birth rate in the Russian capital exceeded the mortality rate. Around 9.6 per cent of those children come from immigrant families.

The Social Policy Department believes immigration is the only way to keep Russia’s modernization on course. Officials believe that by 2025, the workforce will decrease by around 10 million people.

The only way out is to attract more high-qualified immigrants able to participate in the country’s modernization process, especially in big infrastructure projects, as well as in the oil, transportation and engineering industries.

Meanwhile, social specialists say that unless working conditions for immigrants are improved, the situation is unlikely to change for the better.

“What we'll have in the future depends on the government policies of today,” Yulia Florinskaya, demographer at the Higher School of Economics, told RT. “Right now there's no investment into migrant integration, they are not provided with any support, benefit systems, they don't have access to health services. If you help them integrate, it reduces the level of tension that one often finds present in multi-cultural societies.”

The Russian Stats Agency says the flow of immigrants has actually gone down 47 per cent.

Sociologists, however, say that the flow is fed by illegal immigration – there are at least 10 “grey” migrants for every legal one. The actual number is estimated at one million – one fourth of all foreigners who come to Russia.
    Migrants will save us

Yep. The awful stats leave little room for hope. Russia's baby boom may have helped a bit, but far less than the increasing wave of migrants. New immigration laws led to 287,000 migrants arriving to Russia in 2007, or 1.5 times more than in 2006. These Uzbeks, Tajiks and Azeris are working to pump up Russia's population. But the number of Russians is continuing to decrease, especially in the Far East, eastern Siberia and northwest.

Not long ago, Saint Petersburg's North-West Strategic Development Center announced their demographic prognosis for 2025. The projections are shocking. The number of residents in the Kaliningrad region, which is relatively financially secure, will decrease 10 percent. The population of Russia's northern capital Saint Petersburg will decrease 30 percent. The population of the Murmansk region will also drop to half the 1990 figure.

Demographic scientists say that Russia's ethnic makeup will continue to change steadily. The country's highest birth rates are in Chechnya, Ingushetiya and Dagestan. And there are more migrants to Russia each year. In 2007, nearly one-third of the 101,000 babies born in Moscow were of Central Asian or Caucasus descent.

Could these migrants be a blessing for Russia? Even the world's top power, the U.S., is a melting pot of migrants.

"The U.S. is a rich country and doesn't let everyone in. So primarily highly qualified specialists are allowed to emigrate," said Anatoliy Antonov, deputy chair of Family Sociology and Demographics at Moscow State University's Sociology Faculty. "But the least qualified individuals from the most poorly developing countries migrate to Russia."

These are the people who are forming the new Russia. In the best-case scenario they are the leaders of the "Our Russia" movement. In the worst-case scenario they are simply criminals. Take Moscow for example. The capital is rife with almost a dozen ethnic criminal groups.
Immigrants to comprise one-third of Russian population by 2050 – official

As the number of immigrants in Europe grows, representatives from Russia and the EU are meeting in Moscow to discuss the pros and cons of recent immigration trends.

The latest statistics suggest that by 2050, immigrants will comprise one-third of the population in Russia, the head of the State Duma International Affairs Committee, Konstantin Kosachyov, told the meeting.

"About 10 million foreign citizens are already residing in Russia. That is the whole population of Portugal, if we measure it by European comparisons," he said.

Foreign immigrants transferred $19 billion, or 2 percent of Russia's GDP, back to their home countries in 2009.

"That is more than immigrants earned in Germany ($16 billion), in Italy ($13 billion) and in Spain (less than $13 billion)," Kosachyov added.

I think cossacks and old-believers have pretty high fertility rate too though, and they are "ethnic russian" mostly.

Not only are they ethnic Russians, but from what I understand they have always been the backbone of Russia.

These two groups are like stereotypes about Russia, but it is not worth to mention them due to the extremely low number of old believers and practical absence of any serious cossack movement in modern Russia.

According books I have read about Russia, there are 2,5 million old believers and 7 million cossacks in Russia. You obviously are lying as usual since you hate Russia.

There are several million of them. As many as 7 million, according to some sources. And they did grow a lot. In 1989, before the USSR fell apart, their numbers were in tens of thousands. Now – in the millions. It waries though. Most Don Cossacks, who are very Slavicized and culturally very close to Russians, mostly have 2 or three children

But Terek and Kuban Cossacks, who live close with all the Caucasian peoples, like Chechens and such, and have adopted elements of their cultures, have larger families (like above). And, also, Cossack families who are now returning from Central Asia (where were exiled by Bolsheviks after the Revolution of 1917) through their repatriation program also have higher fertility rates.

Actually, they are one of the ’youngest’ ethnic groups in Russia, by average age. 45% of the Cossack population is less than 18 years old. They match the Chechens and the Tyvans (fastest growing ethnic group in Siberia).
In 2012 there was 426 official cossack organisations in Russia and 937 000 registered cossacks in those organisations.

    ----------------------------------------->

A strange people, they are descendants of the original Russian Orthodox Christians, the ones that follow the kind of Orthodoxy that once arrived to Russia with Cyril and Methodius, from ancient Byzantium. They now number as many as 2.5 million souls, living mainly in remote villages

their numbers are growing quickly, there were 1.8 or so million of them ten years ago. Now, as I said, 2.5 million are estimated.

Plus, hundreds of Old Orthodox families are returning to Russia every year now, with government assistance (Putin and the Orthodox Church love them, and why not: religious fanatics, anti-gay, multiply nicely, helping solve demographic issues hehe) from exile in Alaska and Latin America, where their ancestors fled since the Communist revolution

So, the person, who just read about Russia in occasional books and Internet pictures, thinks he knows more than people who were born and live in Russia. Nothing surprising, the stupidity and incredible stubbornness usually go hand by hand. Despite you think that a blind love for african corruption and fecal stalagmites in Russia is a true patriotism, you opinion means nothing.

Estimation of the total number of old believers vary widely from hundreds of thousands to two millions (without serious proofs). The lower estimate may look realistic, the number of Old Believers all time decreases, they either die out or move to a normal lifestyle. Concerning the cossack issue, last true Cossacks were exterminated by Soviet authorities in 1940s, present day cossacks are nothing more than clowns without weapons, who are being raped by Chechen migrants sometimes.

Cossacks and Old Believers seem to me to fit into the molds of Kshatriya and Shudra classes, that any functioning civilization must have in some form. Russia is pushing to become an agricultural powerhouse, one has to wonder if Old Believers wouldn't have a part in that.
