France: Anti-Christian Attacks Rise 245 Per Cent



While racist, anti-Muslim, and anti-Semitic attacks have seen a huge fall since 2008, those on Christian places of worship more than doubled in this period of time, France’s interior ministry reported last week.

Having documented a record number of anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attacks in 2015, the French government spent €100 million on a huge anti-populist campaign to reduce Islamophobia, racism, and anti-Semitism.

Subsequently, racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-Muslim attacks fell sharply in 2016 with the former seeing a decline of 58.5 per cent and the latter a drop of 57.6 per cent. These attacks are defined as being fires, violence, degradation, and threats — comments, inscriptions, insulting letters.

In this year, attacks on Christian places of worship have increased by 17.4 per cent in 2016 compared to 2015. Racist attacks, meanwhile, dropped by 23.7 per cent (608 versus 797).

The sharp drop in incidents of an Islamophobic or anti-Semitic nature was welcomed by the French government, who credited the figures as the “fruit of the government’s action plan”.

“Thanks to an unprecedented mobilisation of state services, we have already achieved very encouraging results, as evidenced by the figures for 2016. This gives us much satisfaction”, said interior minister Bruno Le Roux.

The minister warned against “triumphalism”, however, telling Agence France-Presse: “Faced with racism, anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim, and anti-Christian acts, we must not slacken our guard, quite the contrary.”

“We continue, and we will continue always to fight against these absolutely intolerable acts, which sully the Republic” he added, insisting that France will combat ‘intolerance’ with “maximum vigilance”.

Le Figaro reported that acts which target Christians now account for 90 per cent assaults on places of worship.

The newspaper points out that, while it is to be expected that attacks on churches are the most plentiful because they exist in the largest number, cases in which Christian places of worship were defiled saw a huge rise between 2008 and 2016.

The government says the majority of the 949 attacks on churches have “no religious motive”, but that there was a possible “satanic motivation” in 14 cases and an “anarchist” motivation in 25. However, since 2008 assaults on Christian places of worship have risen by 245 per cent.

Last year in Dülmen, following the arrival of well over a million migrants in Germany, local media said “not a day goes by” without attacks on Christian religious statues.

Integralism

Integralism, or Integral nationalism, is an ideology according to which a nation is an organic unity. Integralism defends social differentiation and hierarchy with co-operation between social classes, transcending conflict between social and economic groups. It advocates trade unionism (or conversely, a guild system) corporatism, and organic political representation instead of ideological forms of representation. Integralism claims that the best political institutions for given nations will differ depending on the history, culture and climate of the nation's habitat. Often associated with blood and soil conservatism, it posits the nation or the state or the nation state as an end and a moral good, rather than a means.
The term integralism was coined by the French journalist Charles Maurras, whose conception of nationalism was illiberal and anti-internationalist, elevating the interest of the state above that of the individual and above humanity in general.

European nationalist organizations and parties are more entwined and united than ever before, to be honest. They are way more supportive to each other than any other political coalition. During the second world war most countries who had nationalist establishments were allies as well.

They will be "united" until they realize they have opposing goals. You can't put Hungarian, Slovak and Romanian nationalists together for example. European nationalism is a myth, it's all based on dreams.

Your example is very wrong too, during WWII French nationalists fought against the German invasion and occupation, just because 3 countries are united in their hatred doesn't mean all countries can unite.

It is possible. The enemy is not anymore our brothers, the world has changed. Today we face a crisis where we must be united and most nationalists understand that.

Unemployment was virtually erased in those nations and the economy grew steadily. Sure, you can mention the war but no one here is trying to replicate everything that happened in the past.

Vicht wasn't a nationalist. Pétain neither. Patriot and nationalist are two different things.

Again, try uniting Hungarian and Romanian nationalists, it doesn't work. You can look at the Ukraine conflicts, that's a classic nationalistic conflict.

They were definitely nationalists, even though they were pro-Germany (and collaborated with their racial policies). They dismissed democracy and were quite authoritarian, even were against the traditions of the French Revolution.

I fail to see why Hungary and Romania wouldn't be able to fight for a common ideological cause.

‘France First’ – Marine Le Pen Hits out at Islamism and Financial Globalization




Marine Le Pen, the presidential candidate for France’s populist National Front (FN), has pledged to put France first, hitting out at “financial globalization”, “mass immigration”, and “Islamic fundamentalism” in a landmark speech.

The 48-year-old said that “financial globalization and Islamist globalization are helping each other out”, and “those two ideologies aim to bring France to its knees”.

According to Le Pen, globalization can be summed up as “manufacturing with slaves to sell to the unemployed”. She pledged that an FN-led republic would be “will be all about the local, not the global”.

Speaking to a cheering crowd of some 3,000 supporters, Le Pen said her government would be “French first” – with French citizens going to the front of the queue for both employment and social housing. In contrast to the representatives of “the cash-rich Right and the cash-rich Left”, she said she was “only the candidate of the people”.

Le Pen appeared to be invoking the spirit of Donald Trump’s successful presidential campaign in the U.S., which explicitly rejected “the false song of globalism” and pledged an “America First” foreign and economic policy.

“People are waking up,” confirmed FN deputy leader Florian Philippot immediately before Le Pen’s speech. “They see Brexit, they see Trump and they’re saying to themselves: ‘It’s worth going to vote.'”

This idea of an impending sea-change in world politics was Le Pen’s key theme: “The people are waking – the tide of history has turned”, she said.

“What is at stake in this election is the continuity of France as a free nation, our existence as a people … The French have been dispossessed of their patriotism. They are suffering in silence from not being allowed to love their country … The divide is no longer between the Left and the Right, but between the patriots and the globalists.”

Le Pen also reiterated her calls for the German-dominated euro to be scrapped and France’s membership of the European Union (EU) to be put to a referendum unless the open-borders Schengen Agreement is abandoned and the bloc reconfigured as a much looser association of sovereign nation-states.
