    Default 2017 Turkish referendum

The referendum is going to be held in April 2017. The people will vote the proposed 'presidential system' in which the President seizes more executive power, such as appointing cabinet members, issuing decrees. The office of Prime Ministry is also abolished. It is a radical shift from Turkey's 90-year old parliamentary tradition.

The ruling party AKP and the MHP superiors endorse this system. MHP's stance especially is a shock for the Turkish opposition; and they seem not to have persuaded their own voters, estimatedly more than a half of MHP's voters do not comply with the party's official decision.

This opinion poll predicts that No is leading with %58:

%80 of Conservative AKP's voters will vote yes, while %20 is against. %70 of Nationalist MHP's voters will vote no (as opposed to the party decision), and %93 of Kemalist CHP's voters will vote no.

How do you think Erdogan is going to deal with a 'no' if that happens? Obviously he's too megalomaniac to resign, but his position should be weakened by this.

Simple, he will make sure it's a yes.

Voter fraud is gauranteed, you can expect millions of Syrian refugees with fresh Turkish pasports to vote YES.

Well; his party lost the absolute majority back in June 2015 and his media made propaganda for another election, and they got what they wanted in November 2015. He clearly didn't accept the first election's results making it obligatory for a coalition government.

I'm not sure if he will be done with the Presidential system if we say no. But it's still better than saying yes; this will be a turning point for the opposition. The long-lasting settled system is in danger; we have to stand up for it. A No will re-assure commitment to Atatürk and his legacy.
