The original house was built in 1796.

There is an old farm that was not far from where I lived and it had a Slave quarters next to it. Here is a pic of me with the Slave Quarters behind me it has recently been demolished. This is in a northern state, lets not forget slavery was legal in the Northern United States up until 1800 in most places.

Birdsville Plantation is near Millen, Georgia. The plantation house survived Sherman's March to the Sea. The reason is that Sherman spared the house due to the death of twins.

Not as glorious as the ones down in Charleston, barely any over here.
