    Default DNA testing recommendation

Could anyone recommend high quality and relatively cheap company to test my genome ? I know about 23andme, but it has very high price.
Any good advice is appreaciated !

If it matters, I'm currently living in Germany so likely ordering from US wouldn't be a problem.

Do you want the whole package Y-DNA + mtDNA + autosomal DNA?

I would do both , but Y and mt-DNA interest me more at the moment, since I know what I can expect at autosomal level.

Yeah, but maternal ancestry is equally interesting, is it not ?

Ftdna is probably the best for haplogroup testing in my opinion

    No, is not.

    1. There was none and is no maternal lineages.
    2. At best, you will know only a letter, which have millions of people.
    3. You can't be even really sure, if it was transmitted from woman to woman.
    4. Result has no real meaning, you can also compare yourself with other people
by gen for hair colour or by gen for the big toe, and it will be exactly the same.
    5. If you are really interested in the letter - do it, but it is really nothing more, than a letter,
which could be, and probably was at least once if not much more times transmitted via male.

If you're interested in Y and Mt you should do Ftdna, if you want autosomal than 23andme.

About the price- for Y you will either way have to spend atleast 150-200$ to know something more or less specipic, otherwise you'll get result like "Congrats you're R1b-M269, you share same ancestor with about 600 million people, enjoy"

And anyway you live in Germany, 150 dollars is like 2 days of low-tier job there, stop crying.
