Default The System's Feedback Mechanism: Why Trump got elected

I believe that human societies are like living organisms. I believe they are self-regulating, self-preserving, cybernetic entities, just like we are. I believe they have complex networks of organs that consist, partly, of human activities, but which are not under human control. I also believe that societies conform to natural selection, just like most other animals do.

In the human body, and all other animal bodies, there are feedback loops which control metabolism, cell replication, brainwave activity, etc. For example, when a person is sent to live in space, where there is less gravity, they experience physiological changes. Their bone mass decreases and their muscles atrophy, because there is no longer an internal nervous stimuli to much gravity. These changes occur because of a feedback mechanism which is controlled by the hypothalamus. The body literally kills or retards itself to adjust to the new environment.

Now, here is what I see as the biggest stimulus for society. We have a wealth of human beings, yet so few purposes for them. The number of jobs for a person to serve is decreasing by the year. We now have: self-driving taxi cabs, self-driving semi-trucks, self-accounting financial systems, robotic lumberjacks and even construction workers. Intelligent robots threaten millions of jobs.

Why then, would the system increase the number of immigrants and poor-dependents, in the sight of such advanced technology, which will only continue to advance further and percolate in to every aspect of our world? These people have no future of any kind. They can only join the ranks of the future poor-dependents, who are incapable of contributing to the system. It only makes sense, therefore, to dispose or deject them, just like a natural body would.

Donald Trump was the only candidate who demonstrated the new will of the system, which human waste management. He is by no means the first, and will not be the last. This is why the world sat back and watched a guy like Rodrigo Duterte turn the Philippines in to a death camp. It is why mini-Trumps keep appearing all over the world, such as Mauricio Macri, who recently called his South American neighbors "scum" and promised to build a wall around Argentina.

Everybody thought Trump got elected because of white nationalism. What they don't know is that "nationalism" and the "reactionaries" were really just the system's autonomic neural network cutting off power to the now useless or even negative elements of society. Diversity used to be thought of as sound economics, but when most of the jobs minorities used to perform are being performed by robots, it just adds to the ranks of dependent and deleterious persons, which are now growing relentlessly as our economy and technology evolve.

It will be difficult to create jobs for natural born citizens in the near future, how can anyone expect to take up the task of getting a constant stream of foreigners to work on top of that?

In the future, wise men will note that the host countries did not expel foreigners because they were acting like animals and being terrorists. It is more accurate to say that foreigners behaved like animals and commited acts of terrorism precisely because they knew they had been rendered obsolete, and would be the first to go on the chopping block.

When something big like this happens and other countries start copying it, it means that natural selection is favoring Trump and Trump-like politicians in other countries. A phenomenon that is outside of human control and unstoppable. We can expect to see more Trump clones to appear in other countries, who are willing to gas or deport immigrants, cut social benefits, eliminate subversive social elements and extract natural resources from every nook and cranny of this planet's surface, in a desperate race to join the sky gods in the cosmic ocean. As is usually the case in the natural world, only a few select individuals will survive this competition.

Welcome to Planet Holocaust. Take a number and have a seat.

Excellent thinking. I disagree with your conclusions and your fundamental assumptions, but it's clear that:

    1. technology is replacing a large part of the human population
    2. the society we live in, and this has been true for a long time, is based on the material utility of society to the benefit of elites
    3. after a long time of hedonistic enjoyment of wealth, times ahead are looking rough at a very basic resource-level

I am not so sure that these post-modern populists or what one should call them are in favour of this development, however. At least the rhetoric of Trump, f.e., is clearly a reaction to it. We'll see.
