The Republic of Ireland got their independence in 1922 after many insurrections but the 6 counties are still part of the UK.

The green is all independent.

Good riddance, hope they'll never re-establish themselves, at least not in near future. Wishing the same fate for the US of A.

Have you ever been mistaken for being British?

I'm sure Irish people outside the Anglosphere would be mistaken for British, although I don't know if they would take that as a compliment or an offence.
