haven't watched it yet .. but let me tell you my opinion , the crusaders haven't succeeded in Middle east because of one reason ( Egypt) .. it's the key to own the who middle east that's what Louis the ninth knew but it was late for him.
when Egypt got invaded by Birits , the whole middle east fall down .. when Egypt woke up , it support the Algerian revolution against french , it fought England-France and Israel in 1956 and we got back Suez canal .. Syrains got rid of the french and so on.
Salah El din knew that , even he was kurds but his kingdom was in Egypt and his army consisted of Egyptians mainly -Syrians and so on.
