the problem of both greece and southern italy is unemployment. especially among the youth. but both of us can live a fairly decent life even with the lowest salaries. nothing would impede us to have internet access , to buy "cheap entertainment" (netflix , videogames etc) , to have a car , to travel abroad twince a year, pay courses for our kids, having a "health security", having a pet and so on. even plastic surgery has become available to the poor .
i would say that only university would be problematic here if you're poor .

here they aren't free. many courses are "open" to everyone while others are selective. medicine and architecture are the most selective ones and the tests are national while for other closed courses they're regional. the bills for med school and veterinary are the highest but those who have proved to be good students are financially helped and dont have to pay anything but only few have this privilege.

it is a good thing that all courses are selective in greece so the degrees have a high value price in the markketplace , i cant say the same for many degrees here

No it will not become a reality but South Italians are superior to North Italians this much I have witnessed myself. They are so family and community oriented, where the North is a spoof from sex in the city type sitcom degeneracy.

I am merely making the point Sicilians should be closer to their people if they want without further suppression (and do not go there) similar North Italian policy towards the Greeks in todays Albania.

They have an almost equal free spirit attitude to the rest of Ellada. Who knows we may even create a soul again for the rest of the degenerates.
