Spanish, whether north or south, have different features than Sicilians do. It is not true they look Arabic or whatever people think. I think Sicilians look like Ashkenazi Jews and Cypriots pretty much, and some Aegean islanders.

I don't know why some people on here differentiate Greeks from their neighbors, but I don't understand it.

I don't know about Sicily but in Greece many people that work in these open street markets like the ones pictured here (fish, fruit, meat etc) are foreigners , usually Middle easterners and Roma.

Also the last photo in your post is from Athens, not Sicily.

First point: not true for Sicily. there are North Africans who sell things there but I excluded their photos.

    Last point: proof?

What do you mean look like Ashkenazi Jews most of the ones I know look like what ever nation they are from and sometimes they will have curlier hair and a more levantine nose. I don't think sicilians look like cypriots and some greek islanders I think they are usually just darker versions of other Italians. I think greeks from all parts look similar just higher concentration of darker greeks in the islands and cyprus.

So you are saying all Greeks, whether mainland or islands look Balkan to you?

My point is, Sicilians do not look Spanish nor Portuguese.

My belief of a Balkan look is not the average persons belief which is more of a east euro look when I say Balkan I refer to Southern Romanians, Albanians, Less Slavic Bulgarians and Greeks. Darker Serbs and Croats would be included in this. Here is the thing about the Balkans region in every nation you have some people who are lighter and darker I know many Romanians who look levantine and many who look Cypriot same for Greeks, Albanians and Bulgarians. Sicilians may not look Iberian I do not know many Iberians but the ones I do know do look Sicilian but again I have never been around many of them so I do not know. But Balkan people I have spent many time around and I know a lot of Sicilians after all they are all around the states. Here is the thing I have noticed about Sicilians in the states some are very dark looking but some are very light like 50/50 50% of the ones I know look western euro and the other 50% look southern euro or distinct Sicilian.
