agree with you but i think in term of lifestyle slavics are close to our culture.Their folklore also strikes me a lot.
There are some similarity between sanskrit and russian:

Voted for Germanic since I can't vote for my own but I don't believe culture is separated on linguistic basis. Romania has more in common with orthodox Slavic countries than with France or Italy, Austria has more in common with Slavic Czech Republic or Slovenia than with Norway or Netherlands, and Russia as a whole probably has ties with Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan more than with Catholic Slavic countries.

British culture is not Germanic. It is more like a mix of Celtic and Romance.

The people of the British Isles do not look, think or behave like Germanic people.

I think the UK is closer to France than it is to Germany in mentality and way of life.

Differences between Scottish and English people are even bigger than between Bohemians and Moravians.

OK, but I mean on the context to the subject - whether some of the 2 peoples are closer to the French culture (for example), than another one

Not really these days. Maybe in the 1700s there was a major difference. Today both of us speak English.

Someone from outside the UK would not really be able to tell the difference and I have had such people tell me that they did not find the Scots and English that different.

The main difference is in mentality. The Scots are more collectivist and prefer more of a social democratic system as well as a continental orientation. The English are more market based and individiualistic.
