The English and French have a lot of differences between us in our cultures actually.
After the retreat of the Romans from Great Britain following the collapse of the Roman Empire, the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes moved in and took over ruling England, before the Viking wars and settlements and Danish rule over England, and before the arrival of the Norman conquerors (Northern French.)
In terms of physical appearances, the French tend to have their own distinct look. They don't burn in the sun as much as northern Europeans do.
But there's also some physical differences between the English and other Germanic groups of people:
Germany (they look similar to several German tourists who I met in the UK - especially the one with the bright red dyed hair.)
Southern England

More Germanic. Turkey unlike rest of Turkic not under Russian influence, never in history and from Europe more German-France influence. So it's Germanic with minor Romance for me.

Romance, but luckly I could experience a slavic "influence", because of my granny, being that in foods, teachings, a little of the language, and I've learn to admire the Orthodox Church, if there was one around I'd go.
I want to teach this to my descendants and pass then what was passed to me, I won't let my Slavic flamme die on me..
Perhaps I can slavify myself more

The British are actually Celtic, even if they are English, English people only have 10-25% Germanic ancestry depending on the person/region. the Norman take over of Britian was by Normans who had assimilated into the Gallo-Roman Culture of Normandy, humble Germanics recognizing their own civilizations inferiority at the time. The English wishing they were Anglo-Saxon is nothing but a delusion.
