    Default Austrian autosomal DNA results

This guy, Michael Eisenriegler, is mostly Austrian:

    http://michael.eisenriegler.at/micha...atives-finder/

Info about his genealogical ancestry (family tree):

Like most people who are into family research I’m always interested in finding new relatives and to get in touch with distant cousins. To make this easier I had my DNA tested on 23andme and on Ancestry DNA and also uploaded it to GEDmatch (Kit # M368955) as well as FTDNA. My full family tree is available on MyHeritage, please ask for access.

My paternal haplogroup is J2b2* (23andme), J-M172 (FTDNA)
My maternal haplogroup is H1 (23andme)

Depends on the individual. Austria-Hungary wasn't ethnically uniform as you can see from his ancestral surnames and locations.

So Austrian Germans are closer genetically to some Southern Slavs, than to regular Germans (bar southern Germany) ? That's pretty interesting.

    No? It's one sample.

The Guanche skulls as a whole are unlike those of modern European Mediterraneans, and resemble northern European series most closely, especially those in which a brachycephalic element is present, as in Burgundian and Alemanni series.
divided them into clearly differentiated types, which include a Mediterranean, a Nordic, a "Guanche," and an Alpine. The "Guanche" accounts for 50 per cent of the whole on the four islands of Teneriffe, Gomera, Gran Canaria, and Hierro; the Nordic for 31 per cent, the Mediterranean for 13 per cent, and the Alpine

that map messed up horribly with Slovaks. Def. not a ethnic Slovak, but yeah it is just one sample, but it also represents a big part of the Austrian population. Some closer to the Croatian border are probably closer to Croatians than the German core and those closer to Germany the opposite.
