New ambassador of Turkmens in Turkey transmit president Berdymukhamedov message to Turkish state television:
Turkey and Turkmenistan are two states but one nation. Two countries have exceptional close cultural and historical and ethnic ties. Turkey and Turkmenistan are brothers in bone.



So some people say here we are deluded. They call us fool. But feelings are obviously mutual. Other point is Turkmenistan face West so Turkey.

No .Turkish and Turkmen share common ancestry, common blood both people descend from medieval Seljuk empire. Azerbaijan and Gagauz peoples also related with Turkish and Turkmen. So it's not like Wasp and Jamaican. There is linguistic, genetics, ethnic and ancestry connections. You are wrong, President is right.

The few I heard about Turkmenistan foreign politics is basically to stay quiet. Always be discret in international business. As the country is lead by dictator, being discret and don't make ennemy is there motto to keep the control of the country.

Don't get me wrong they are closer to each other than say a WASP and a Jamaican but they are overall very different. Turkmenistan has more in common with NW China than Anatolian Turkey. This is just pan-Turkic PR stuff. And yes there are ethnic Central Asians living in Turkey but most Anatolian Turks are firmly a West Asian people.
