A German online retailer is facing a massive backlash after some blatantly racist shirts were spotted up for sale on its site.
Spreadshirt.com allows users to create their own T-shirt designs and then sell them on its online platform. Two users identified as Quentin1984 and Monigote decided to take advantage of this creative freedom to create a pair of offensive designs, reading: "Save a dog, eat a Chinese" and "Save a shark, eat a Chinese."

North East Asia is generally a developed region in many ways, that I respect. But when it comes to animals they're stuck, they can't grasp they are living beings with feelings, they're just "objects" to many. Animal right laws are non existent. And it's not just dogs and sharks, the more endangered an animal species is, the more desired it becomes to eat, as it is considered "luxurious" then.


This is a Chow Chow, a Chinese dog breed. "chow chow" basically means food.




This is another, the Chinese Crested. Guess why it was bred with no fur? No hassle to flay it.

Why would it be problem for us if dogs are part of their cuizine? You eat pork, chicken, cow, sheep and etc. they're living beings too. Unless, of course you're not some sort of a militant vegan.

Here are two nations, with roughly the same level of civilisation, with a densely interwoven history, a cognate language – but who have entered the internet age with radically different ideas about eating humanity’s eternal helpmeet. In fact, the further you whizz around the world, the more unusual the British scruple seems to be. From Mexico to Kazakhstan, you find people eating horse flesh – and the Chinese manage to chomp through an astonishing 1.7 million gee-gees every year.

You feel like Captain Cook, when he first came across the phenomenon among the South Sea Islanders. You are in the presence of the mighty socialising force that helps knit together the vast and disparate communities of this hairless ape. Yet horse meat in Britain is taboo. You slap your great green brow in excitement, and soon you are teleporting yourself around the world in search of other examples of dietary prohibitions.

Within a few days you have a rich haul. Muslim nations will eat camel flesh and sheep’s eyes, but they won’t touch dog; while the Koreans breed thousands of pooches for the table. There are some cantons of Switzerland that boast a recipe for fricasséed cat, though there are other Swiss cantons that angrily object to any suggestion of pet-scoffing. Some religions proscribe the pig, some the shellfish, some demand two sinks in their kitchens so as to avoid mixing meat and dairy products.

I don't understand why people are so pissy about this. It's really not that different from other cultures eating animals that we don't generally consider food.

I would understand if it's an issue on the way that the animals are butchered, but it never seems to be about something like cruelty towards the animals, and more about "ewww, they're eating dogs"

The prohibition against the eating of horse meat in Europe comes from a decree of the Roman Church which outlawed the practice because it was popular among the Germanic polytheists. There is a tradition of eating horse in Yorkshire where it is called "kicker."

One can find horse meat in Austria and Switzerland. I believe the ban on horse meat should be repealed because Catholic decrees have no place in modern secular culture. The British should stop being so hysterical over the so-called "horse meat scandal."

Pigs are just as sentient and intelligent as dogs.

Militant Vegan < Laidback Vegetarian. I rarely eat meat, when I do, I know the meat comes from humane sources that respect animals. I come from a hunter family, an animal living a good free life in the woods, being shot point blank with minimal suffering are miles apart from this fucking miserable cruelty.

But this is not something a muslim third worlder will understand, who won't even let a cat into the house, the most clean animal there is. Most Europeans value and respect animals*, especially the ones included in the family.

*Euros are by no means perfect, still alot to improve in animal treatment. But in comparison..
