Any ancient civilisation with “sky people” granting them with power and knowledge is going to attract ancient astronaut theorists. Ancient Aliens is believable if you take it further back to say, Sumeria, or the very beginning of Egypt. Also considering the way UFO's move, they are likely some electromagnetic phenomena if not they are extradimensional beings not beholden to the laws of physics and therefore probably wouldn't need spacecraft as they themselves could transcend physical law.
