Default Boxplots of european ancestry in several Latin American Countries

Boxplots of european ancestry in several Latin American Countries

    Some comments before

-CUBA: I used a study of USA Cubans. Most USA Cubans are white.
-ARGENTINA: I used a National study that over represent the less euro areas of Argentina (Salta). The result is 65% euro when IMO it should be around 70-75% euro.
-PUERTO RICO: Most Puerto Rican studies have very similar results.
-COLOMBIA: I used a study done in Medellin (Paisa Region). Its the most euro region of Colombia but its also the most populated.
-CHILE: I used a national study. Chile seems to be relatively homogeneous.
-R DOMINICANA: I used USA Dominicans because the sample was pretty big. There arent many studies done in the island.
-MEXICO: I used a big Mexican American sample. Most Mexican studies are from central/southern Mexico and the results are less euro.
-PERU: Lima Peru Big sample. I think its the most populated area of Peru.

Obviously there are many studies and the chart could look different. If anybody has a better study let me know and i can add it to the chart.

    EDIT: Divided in 3 groups

thanks! I guess it makes sense that more "colonial" countries such as chile/puerto rico are very homogeneous and a country like Argentina is more heterogeneous. Cuba should also be heterogeneous if it wasnt just USA Cubans.

well is the minimun value in a sample of around 1.000 dominicans. but most Dominicans are not scoring close to that.

what i find interesting the most (and also reasonable) is that some countries are very homogenous (like puerto rico) and others more heterogeneous. IMO Brazil and Cuba national boxplots would be similar to that of Argentina and Paraguay similar to Chile/Colombia.

It looks fine, you did a good job. But I've come to look at averages from studies quite differently that I have in the past. Reason is, studies give an average and many people take that at face value, and unless they produce individual results within them, it's a vague calculation of several populations of different ancestral percentages. You might have one third of people in the 90+Euro category, one third in the castizo category and one third in the balanced mestizo category, but get an average that's 75% Euro (not a true calculation, it's just for arguments sake) so many people go about thinking such population is 75% Euro on average when a third of them are actually whites. Averages are skewered in my opinion. I think it's more conclusive to see individual results from those samples if they are made available.
