I take issue with using diaspora populations in the US as exemplars. Cuban-Americans are whiter than Cubans in Cuba, while (at least depending on the state) Mexican-Americans are more Amerindian-shifted than many Mexicans in Mexico (at least in Northern and Central Mexico, at any rate).

Also what do you think about the Colombia result? I used a Medellin sample so i expect it to be a little more euro than colombia on average, but its the most populated region right?

Yeah, modern day Cuba is like a modern day Dominican Republic, just with a larger white population (Cuba still has a third of its population as white). Major white flight from Castro's Cuba changed the demographics of Cuba forever. The white and black populations will get smaller over the decades and it will just be a mulatto Island like DR. Puerto Rico will then be the "whitest" island of the Caribbean, and that's not saying much.

OH OK. Sorry. I actually agree with you and thats why i made the boxplots. I hate those averages that doesnt represent anybody. I prefer ranges that really show what the people in a certain place look like.

I like that the result are reasonable when comparing countries, for example Argentina and PR are similar on average (i think Argentine study downplayed the euro) but the ranges are completely different. And i actually agree with that as in Argentina you can have heavily euro people and heavily amerindian ones depending on the location and origin. Puerto Rico is more homogenous and thats what the boxplots show despite having a similar average.

Also Chile is surprisingly homogeneous in most studies.

I'd love to see a boxplot on Canarians!

True, Dominican Republic a lot blacker. Even tho there is pred. black looking Cubans too. But i havent meet or seen no pred. Euro looking Dominican that looks over 70%+ Euro. While Cubans most I seen in person look pred. white. Either Galician or Canarian looking or combination.

Those are fake numbers put out by the Castro government. The CIA has numbers that are more real, if I remember it was 36% and that was several years ago. The Castro government wants the island to seem whiter than it is. Look at that picture, did that pic full of people seem pretty white to you?

What I meant by my comment about DR, is that Cuba will be a mulatto island. There are still many blacks on the island also.

I met some white Dominicans before, actually. The were visiting the US from DR. It was a surprise to see. I think DR has lots of blacks still, but there are also still lots of black Cubans too.

I think those whites in Cuba are probably in the 85%-89% range. I think most of the 90%+ whites got out of Cuba, but there could still be a significant proportion of them left among the white population there.

What about for the whites (criollo range) population in Mexico. I should make a thread with some pics doing compare of main phenotypes among each pred. white LA.
