I am making charts with latin american results in gedmatch and while a part of your statement is true ("rarely any pure") , most are not scoring between 80-90. Most score between 80-96 with a good quantity over 90% caucasian. Thats very high for latin america.

well of course, like I said they received a large Spanish population, therefore its obvious they will have people scoring around the 90% percentage (every colonial "white" latino mix with recent Euro will be around that range)
but that will only mean their colonial "white" population was in fact mix race Cubans of pred Euro

Interesting theory although I think the whitening effect you are talking about happened within a longer period of time. White Cubans with some admixture don't necessarily have grandparents or great grandparents that are more mixed than them. Most people marry within their own social and racial circles. I'm sure that for generations people within the upper 80-90% range have been marrying each other. Spanish immigrants most likely married into "white" families within the 80-90% European range and their kids might have been slightly more European but then those kids turn around and marry other Cubans also within the 80-90% range keeping the admixture among "whites" at pretty much the same levels. So yes, the Spanish migrants of the late 19th and early 20th century did play a role in the overall "whitening" of the population in the sense that they were absorbed into the already existing "white" population increasing their numbers but I don't think they played much of a role in whitening up the blacks and mulatto population.
