They aren't more inherently violent than any other population. As I said they don't go into foreign countries with armies. If the Irish had problems with drunkenness and violence in the 20th century in places like the US it didn't take them long to pull their socks up and become one of the most commonest nationalities in the police force.
Even today the Irish football fans are known for their good cheer and whenever Ireland participates they usually come out as the best fans.

I know the Irish aren't violent and if you chose to use things from 150 years ago what can we say about other nationalities?
Objectively the Irish aren't a particularly violent people. If you want to troll out things from when they went to the US on coffin ships and faced a lot of racism but still managed within a couple of generations to achieve great political clout go ahead. There are many famous Americans of Irish ancestry that have done very well for themselves.

I'm quite fascinated by the gangster era in places like Chicago. A very interesting part of US history. There were many nationalities involved in crime in that era. Not sure how that shows the Irish are a particularly violent group? My favourite was Dion O'Bannion. His name is wonderful for starters.

Humanity is violent in nature, this has nothing to do with the race. Under right circumstances; anyone will turn into a beast.

Anyway regarding gangsters it just reminded me of this old song. Anyone talking about Irish gangsters well there was more Irish cops on the beat trying to keep law and order.
