lol if you think Irish aren't violent. They were seen as undesirable drunken hooligans in Boston in the early part of the 20th century and still are.

I'm quite fascinated by the gangster era in places like Chicago. A very interesting part of US history. There were many nationalities involved in crime in that era. Not sure how that shows the Irish are a particularly violent group? My favourite was Dion O'Bannion. His name is wonderful for starters.

So am I, I just started watching Peaky Blinders on Netflix which I highly recommend. How can one deny the violentness of Irish mobsters? Anyone involved in the Irish Mob is capable of violence. I believe most of the organized Irish criminal outfits originated in the street gangs of New York and Boston. The Westies for example.

Most Irish are not hot tempered. That is just a stereotype. There are of course some people that are violent in every nationality but the Irish are quite peace lovers and most of their violence was because they were fairly brutalised and what would any other nationalities do under the same circumstances?

Whitey Bulger was one scary man. He was a total sociopath. Johnny Depp played him in the movie Black Mass. Johnny was barely recognisable in that part. Anyway the old time gangsters were completely fascinating.

I'm not proud of anti-social activity. The Irish did a lot of good things and as I said other groups were involved in organised crime as well.

I do find it a fascinating part of US history. The gangsters were fascinating. Some of the most famous of course are Al Capone, Ma Barker and her gang, John Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie and Clyde. A lot non-Irish.
