^I agree. I think it may have surpassed (median prices, not at the upper end) manhattan prices.

I have a STEM background too. I'm also far from a hippie, I also spend quite a bit of my time away from the city but I do appreciate the fact that a city like San Francisco is necessary in many respects. It is a very unique city with a unique local culture.

That's one of the negatives of California.

Alright Ross, FYI, the Chinese community in San Francisco was here from the beginning, since 1849. Unlike the Midwest or the East Coast, Chinese Americans are a native settling group in California, unlike Indians.

Secondly, the percentage of Chinese in SF at certain points of the 19th century was even higher than it is now, even though it's still quite high now. But Chinese Americans are very well integrated into the city, many of the trendiest businesses are run and supported by Asian Americans. So is a lot of the economic vibrancy.
