What do people think of this?

What is "Jordan EBA", is it Natufian? It is higher in Western Sicily than in Cyprus, but those Sicilians also have a more sizable Greek-like component than Cypriots do. Both groups have high "Armenia Chalcolithic" which must be the Caucasus component.

Jordan_EBA is like Natufian + some Iran. Most of Europe is somewhere between LBK Germany and the Bronze Age Euro/steppe.

Great pca made by Opengenomes with all these samples :

what's interestig here is the fact Cypriots, Sicilians and to a lesser extent Albanians score more Barcin Neolithic than the rest. I think in countries like Bulgaria for example the Barcin admixture got replaced by LBK when slavs arrived.

Most likely, yes. What surprises me is Greeks do not have much of this, though I suspect that is a mainland sample.

Also, this is western Sicily. East Sicily should have even higher, and probably no NE Euro. The Jordanian component is stronger in western Sicily than Cyprus interestingly.

yeah true but i'm not sure the sample is big enough.for instance if you take a guy from east thrace he might come off as a bulgarian, however the bulk of the mainland is still quite close to italy as a whole.

Where are the sources for the samples?

My scores would look the polar opposite for sure. I get very compressed scores in caulculators, without those minor strange admixes.

Some of these samples seem to be part-gypsy. Just copy pasting with no source I can't take this seriously.

To Italy, or to Sicily? The difference between the Greek sample (which I think is Thessaly) and Sicily makes sense. Maybe if there was an Abruzzo or Campania sample, it'd be closer.

I also think East Sicily is closer to Cyprus than it is to the mainland Greece, multiple PCAs have shown this when we see East Sicily/Calabria samples.

To get mainland Greeks to be like southern Italians, you have to be in the Peloponnese, especially the south of it. Anything from Macedonia, Thessaly, etc. not so much.
