Islam promotes distinct, complimentary gender roles. If someone is able to better correspond to the role of the opposite sex, and the rules that apply to that sex, then they should do the tranny surgery (I dont really know what it all entails, honestly).

It is in no way explicitly disallowed in the Quran, and in Islam, thus only through rather metaphorical interpretation, can it be dissalowed. In Islam, what is not disallowed, is allowed.

This should only come after effort to reform, however.

First, children are the pride of Islam, if the surgery makes someone infertile, it is most certainly disliked. Thus, the circumstances must be great for the surgery to be the proper path. Eg, the individual isnt able to function correctly as is.

For individuals who were infertile before, that doesnt apply.

As well, transsexuals should avoid intercourse of all kinds, to be safe. Internally, much doesnt change as the appearance of the person changes. An inside out penis is not a vagina, their chromosomes do not change, their internal genitalia (both for men and women; yes, the prostate counts). For them to have sex is most certainly a homosexual act.

This does not preclude them from getting married, however, so long as they marry another transsexual of the opposite sex, and remain celibate throughout that marriage, it is not haram. Though marrying itself would be unadvisable due to the need for celibacy.
