I'm not convinced Assad was responsible for the attack. In fact, I doubt it. Knowing full-well how the "international community" would react, using it as an excuse for upping efforts to oust him, he would have to be mad to do it.
That means, assuming it actually happened and the footage we are being fed is real, it was probably carried out by American-backed terrorist proxies. I'm not even going to bother trying to name them. The attack should probably be taken as proof that the US has not given up on Syria. It has already destroyed much of the infrastructure and housing stock of the country, not to mention killed hundreds of thousands of people, but that is not enough. They still want Assad out, Syrian sovereignty gone and the Syrian state fractured.
As for Trump, he's playing the game, as expected. The agendas of imperial domination of the middle east, war, regime-change etc. are still in play. Trump might change a few things, but he will not change that. Whenever an American leader talks about withdrawing from the game of empire, he is talking out of his arse.
As for Syria, it's finished. This false flag will just bring us one step closer to the final result. Syria as a strong, centrally controlled entity, will never be rebuilt in its previous image. What emerges will be weak, unstable and decentralized.
Then, there's the other, brutally realistic perspective: perhaps it would have been better if Assad fled the country years ago. He will not be able to prevent the inevitable, and could end up dead. Had he left in 2014, for example, provided he found a suitable new home, Syria still would have been destroyed, but the situation may have been resolved quicker and some lives may have been saved. False flag attacks couldn't have been blamed on him if he wasn't there. It's only speculation, but it seems reasonable.

Now two possibilities:
1 - Normal effect of thermobaric bombs.
2 - The barrels of rebels/jihadists with chemical agents were damaged.

You could have just listen to me long time ago when i said that assad is the lowest form of life and should hang himself.
You see? unlike the other dictators who got toppled or killed he had the safe options to go to france russia england or even US or anywhere in the world when first ten people got killed in syria, then he had more countires begging securing him asylum when first 100 people died. Then again when first 1000 people died. But no, he had ti cause the death of 500.000 people and over 10 million displaced.
Thats the biggest scum that ever lived. What soul wants to remain in power at such cause?! An absolutely scum of the scum type of soul.
