Yes, nicaraguan have important negroid admixture, and this negroid admixture is heavier when you go to caribean coast and Mosquitia, where british tried to colonize it importing blacks from Jamaica, but spaniards and nicaraguans defeated them. Mosquitia indians are also heavily mixed with blacks.

I already knew that the eastern coast of Nicaragua (Mosquitia) have many blacks of British Caribbean origin, and that many "Amerindians" from there are actually mixed with black, but I always had assumed most of the rest of the country (especially the mountainous, westernmost and most populated part), as being predominately mestizo.

I do agree with Perikolez and Vascontelo, I know them a bit because my mother in law is nicaraguan.

I believe the average Nicaraguan overlaps with Southern Mexicans from Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Guerrero(which has more SSA admixture than the average Mexican).
On the coastal part of Nicaragua, however, you have more Garifunas and Colonial Afro-Latinos who look predominately SSA or Afro-Caribbean as well as many Tri-Racials and balanced Zambos(Miskitos).
Then, in the upper class parts of Nicaragua, you have quite a few Castizos and whites.
Many Nicaraguans I've met irl show obvious SSA admixture to varying degrees, even if their Mestizo/Indo-mestizo. I've met one Nicaraguan girl who looked super tri-racial with light olive skin, Amerindian features, and coarse Jheri curl hair. It was quite a sight.
Personally, I always thought of Nicaraguans as having a lot in common with the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, despite being Central American. Their national sport is baseball. They tend to be very expressive and loud. Their food is straight up Caribbean influenced. And much more.
