The double standards when it comes to Whites in Latin America versus other New World Whites

Depends on where you live. In the midwest Italians will be seen as regular white,, since they do not hold on to their culture in the Midwest. On the east coast Irish and Italian both make it clear they are Irish-American or Italian-American. But I think hollywood makes Italians look more like the swarthy villain,, more than they are.

Many Americans look at Frank Sinatra as normal Italian American.



You do have some fascination with Italians you always talk about them.

Even on the east coast of the US, both Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans are "regular whites". I assume you meant to distinguish the difference between those whites that still hold on to their ancestral heritage and those that do not. As there are some that do and some that do not, they are all just "regular whites", whatever that is supposed to mean. I live in Louisiana, this place is ground zero for Americans that still hold on to ancestral heritage.

I don't think the average person can see 20% African or Native American in someone's phenotype. I saw videos on where African American with very obvious European features had 30% European ancestry or more but the native Nigerians, West Africans commented how "Yoruba" or "Northern Nigerian" he looks because of his skin tone.

Well I'm sure you know why this is. Because most Latinos are mixed-race in the US, so most Americans in the US have something in the back of their minds that all Latinos are mixed race. But I do remember when I lived in the US state of Florida for two years, this whole mixed-race Latino thing was not as common as other places in the US. Florida has a large Cuban/Cuban-American population and most of them are whites and Floridians are used to seeing them. So I've had this conversation with Floridians before and they often knew Latinos could be white or other races. In Louisiana it's the same. However, large parts of the US sees Latinos as mixed people (which many don't even know they are mixed, they think they are a full race that is called Latino/Hispanic. The ignorance is incredible, the size of it)
