A transvestite is a person who dresses as another gender for sexual gratification, basically a man who dresses like woman for sexual pleasure or vice versa, but they're almost never transgender. A transsexual is a transgender person who has undergone genital surgery, they can be transvestites but are no more prone to it than anyone else.

I have some oversized men's T-shirts that I sleep in. Does that count as transvestite, or not?
