Greek and Spanish accents are identical to the point that even when a Greek speaks Greek sometimes Spanish people hear it as Spanish that they cannot make out.

When I worked in a call center, we got a call from a customer and I assumed from the accent that he was Mexican. He was actually Greek.

But then the guy in the video above doesn't sound like that to me, but closer to something Eastern European.

I also remember going to a Greek festival with a non-Greek friend, and she kept saying she heard people speaking Spanish off in the distance but could not locate who it was because every time she got close to people she couldn't hear Spanish anymore. I think she was hearing the sound of Greek, thinking it was Spanish, and then realizing when getting closer she couldn't pick up the words.
