The original palazzo was erected in about 1605 by the Spanish nobleman, Ximenes of Aragon. In the 19th century, Ferdinand Panciatichi Ximenes inherited the property and, between 1853 and 1889, remodeled it into one of the largest examples of Moorish Revival architecture. Umberto I, king of Italy, visited Ximenes at Sammezzano in 1878.

The palazzo served as a luxury hotel in the post WWII era; then was vacated and closed.

The Moorish revival style (or neo-moorish style) is a bit kitsch. The rear facade of Castel of Sammezzano is more similar to the original one, before the nineteenth century architectural makeover.

those who say i'm happy X architecture is not present in my country show the same extremism of people in extreme countries where they dstroy buildings of a culture they don t like

also showng extreme intolerance or out of mind speeches is the same thing they do and we do then behave like them. instead we are superior and we are friendly with those of them who genuinely love us and hatefull or better Ignore those of them who hate us.
