Honestly I don't see why Greeks have to be Germans or Turks or Arabs. The Greeks managed to sustain their Orthodox religion or else they would have never rebelled against the Turks. They would probably fight for Islam the same way the Albanians were rebelling at 1914 with the wish to become Ottomans again.
