We have the word pośledni (so no need,
for talking about "similar" word pośredni),
and panna means simply miss - what he
    didn;t say in his translation.
I was also taken back by his lacking knowledge while watching this video some time ago.

This is neither some super fancy word, nor pośledni is an antiquated one like lt's say birbant - (English carouser).

It's possibly more of a literary word these days, but you can come across this word in collocations like ''towar pośledniej jakości'' - ''an inferior quality product''. It's pretty common actually.

Apparently till the 15th century pośledni meant exactly the same as this contemporary Czech adjective -poslední. From the sixteenth century, the meaning shifts from pośledni as in 'last, being at the end' to pośledni 'inferior, substandard', for example the inferior place, the inferior wine.

It is still possible between Poles and Czechs (albeit Czechs tend to understand Polish better than the other way around0 while I doubt it is possible between the Dutch and the English people. If you are patient, and you know many synonyms already present in Polish you can carry on basic conversation with Czechs, especially those from Moravia.

Those who know some dialects or are familiarized with Old Polish literature have it easier I reckon.

In general I understand Polish better than I understand Czech.
