I would add that sometimes does not even have to be sealed the deal (make out , sex) to be cheating. If a girlfriend of mine had intentions of having something with other guy, and try to act upon it, or even some flirts, it is already cheating in my book.

It's cheating but, depending on the situation, I wouldn't necessarily dump someone for it. I mean, if my boyfriend got drunk one night, kissed someone all drunk happy, then woke up sober being like "...crap,", he eventually tells me about it and shows that he's truly sorry, I might even forgive.

It's the emotional connection that is pretty heartbreaking and causes problems in my eyes. I'd definitely rather forgive someone for a silly drunk mistake and a proper apology than a long-term sincere affair where their feelings are no longer with you.

I agree! Esp if it's just someone you hung out with for a night then there is no deep emotional connection to bother abt. Definitely the emotional Involvement with someone else is what I would consider true cheating .

it's up to you to decide when and what is a relationship ender. This depends both on you and your partners judgement, as well as how well you both know each other. It can be very hard to just leave a relationship when such instances occur, and it is hard to know if or when they will escalate.

I have been in this situation and it can suck big time. You're in a bit of a limbo. In hindsight, I would have followed my suspicions and ended the relationship earlier. But that is always easier said than done.
