Maybe like elsewhere, the pagan traditions (partly) transform to the new religion.
I doubt this place is very welcoming for permanent settlements of outsiders.
AFAIK, your description best fit Abkhazians who are rather an exception. They have the paganism officially, indeed. I doubt all Muslims 'don't practice circumcision' there.
Also keeping traditions doesn't mean keeping paganism (which is a religion).
Do what you should.

Disagree. Traditions come from paganism, folk traditions based on paganism. You have to go to a village, you'll see some weird things like bones and skulls around house or something like that
if you kill one family member of someone, theirs come to you and kill 10 of your family members. This is the actual problem in Caucasus called vendetta
