I read that they were Basque speaking until 1600s and then switched to spanish so to me that's not enough for Basque nationalists to make territorial advances over Navarra South of the Ebro. Anyone else can confirm that or add any corrections?
This is obviously a troll post (tyrannical and opressive ? what a joke) but just to inform you, there are areas that have been part of Castile that were Basque speaking (Vizcaya, Alava, Rioja, Northern Burgos, etc)

And Basques are, always have been, and always will be Spanish. Fuck with anti-Spanish people who want the disintegration of Spain. They should give up, or they can get sick with cancer, for waiting with so much hatred and longing, something that is never going to happen.
3 provinces out of 7 are located in France, you ignorant knucklehead. And don't come to tell that since we're only "300 000", it's not even worth to mention us. Then there's no Iceland, no Albania, no Kosovo, no Montenegro, no Cyprus etc...

Ignorant European-wannabes like you who make such reflexions in Bayonne or Biarritz end up with their snotty nose bleeding like a chocolate fountain.

Don't visit the Basque Country, or your Spanish/Italian/Balearic/with light Amerindian admixture face will soon look like the flag of Venezuela, with the 7 (actually 8, thanks Chavez) stars circling your head, because of your American gaffes.

For your sake, illiterate pandaboy, know that Euskal Herria is neither Spanish, nor French, and is made out of 7 provinces, Navarra (or rightly said Nafarroa) is one of them, and with the 3 remaining southern provinces, is called Egoalde (the South). The 3 French provinces are named Iparralde (the North)

And to complete your limited knowledge of Europe, my dear American/fake European, learn also that the Catalan countries don't only include Spain, but Andorra, a part of southern France and a little part of Sardinia too.

so other parts of the Basques speaking areas are under France and that makes them 100% French just like Basques living under Spain are 100% Spaniards?
    thanks for your interesting opinion.

I don't care if French Basques are 300 000. Spanish Basque country is much bigger, in size and population, than French Basque country. And Basques from Spanish Basque country are Spanish and always will be Spanish, like it or not.

And I already knew that Andorra is Catalan speaking, that there is a French Catalonia (also much smaller in size and population compared to the Spanish Catalonia), and that they also speak Catalan in a corner of Sardinia (in Alguer). That doesn't change that Catalans from Spain are Spanish and always will be Spanish, like it or not.

And you don't give me lessons of culture and geography, moron.

No you don't get it. The whole Aquitanians (not just french basques) are ethnically similar to basques/navarrese/northern spaniards, and they are Gascons (Occitans), and their surnames are not basque.
